"For God has chosen the weak things in the world, the foolish, the nothings.. That no flesh will Glory in His presence."

Witnessing Tracts for a new Generation

"Faith cometh by hearing..."

Hi!

Over the last few years, with new technology and software innovations "audio compilations" have started to appear among Christian circles to stir up passion in the hearts of believers. A few years back a tape entitled "revival fire" circulated around BRSM and then all over the world. People ended up with copies of copies of copies..

These compilations are a powerful mix of music and other sound files. Here I want to teach you how to create them. You will be surprised at how easy it is. They are usually aimed towards Christians, but you could easily create one aimed toward the Lost and even include information on your Church, youth group or ministry on the CD.

Go to Compilations to hear the different files.

The first thing you will need are mp3 and/or wav files for your compilations. You can get those here and other places on the internet. You will only need one simple software program - Accoustica. You can download it by clicking on this link. It is free for 30 days then you need to pay a registration fee of $25.  (United4Truth/FiroentheAltar is not in any way associated with the distributors of Accoustica)

Also, Eric Hogan sent me this info on these "Free" programs that he says will take care of everything needed to create comps.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ - a free audio editing program similar to Accoustica, but free.
http://streamboxripper.cjb.net/ -  a free real audio to mp3 converter
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm - A free audio music converter

Here is a brief example of a file created in Accoustica - "In the River" Click this link  and listen to the file while reading about how it was created below.

.

These are sound files mixed together to produce the file "In the River". The image showing is towards the end of the file. You will notice the Lou Engle file on top, but also I added a "Jesus Chant" to start during the Lou Engle prayer. You will notice I took the sound level down towards the end of the Lou Engle file so now all that was really playing is the 'Jesus Chant". You will notice right at the end of the "Jesus Chant" I inserted the "Delirious" file to pick up right when the crowd would say Jesus again. To hear the above sequence download the "In the River" file above and fast forward it to about 7:25.

A few tips when using this software. You will have to listen to different sermons and write down the different times in the sermon where something is said that you might want to put on a compilation. The file cannot be in real audio it must be in mp3 format at least 96 kbps in quality. To convert low quality mp3s (24 - 80 kbps) and real audio files to a high quality mp3 file that you can use in a compilation simply download a program called DB Power Amp here http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm I think it is a free program, at least it used to be.

You will need this software to convert low quality mp3s to high quality. Doing so will allow a comp to be played on an audio CD clearly. If you try to put a low quality mp3 file (like those on sermonaudio.com or sermonindex.net etc) on to a CD it will have a loud 'wasp' sound to it. You need the software above to convert it at a higher quality mp3 and then bring it in to accoustica or other audio editing program.

When using DB Power amp to convert low quality mp3s to high quality mp3s you must follow these steps or it wont work.
1) Convert the low quality mp3s to high quality wav files.
2) Then convert the wav files to 112 kbps or 128 kbps mp3 files.

Once you do that the files are ready to be brought into Accoustica. If you skip step 1 it will not work, you must follow both of the above steps.

Mixing Comps:
In the software program you click on the tab "sound" and then "add sound" and select the file you want to use. If it is from a sermon obviously the file might be over an hour long. All you do is click on it and cut/delete the part of it you do not want, leaving the clip that you do want. Important: When cutting through long files like that make sure you click on the "zoom out" magnifying glass icon or you will have to do allot of scrolling.

Save files as .sgp That is like a work file for Accoustica - which can only be used in the software program. This saves your file so you can work on it later. Also save the file as an mp3. I usually save it at around 128 kbps and that is sharp enough for a CD - however pay attention to the quality of your MP3's. If you use a 96 kbps mp3 and save the file as 160 kbps it will not improve the quality of the 96 kbps file. Use files that are 112 kbps or better. You might be able to get away with some files that are a little lower in quality.

Another tip: Toward the top right side in Accoustica you will see a drop down menu that says volume. Click on the arrow and change it to "pan". Now when you raise a lower the bars on your files you can bounce the audio back and forth between left and right side speakers. Play around with it and you will see what I mean.

Also, If you are going to use music already produced by someone else in the background. You should probably shy away from big business type labels and use "grass roots" type artists who are usually cool with their music being used in a compilation.

If you produce a compilation please send me an email chris@united4truth.com   I would love to hear the file you created and might like to post it to www.fireonthealtar.com

I hope you can use this information powerfully for the Kingdom of God. BURNING!
